| I just was thinking of buying SWG (or a other mmo game), then noticed I have no rly clue how this work. And instead of FU**ing up something.
What is there to know when shoping online? (in global and bout games)

| We wont know until release, but the common options are:
* DIRECT DEBIT / PAYPAL monthly: The most common way, you submit a card (debit or credit) to the games' website and it takes an amount each month.
* GAMECARD: This is like buying "top-up" coupons for mobile phones / cellphones. You buy a card (usually in a shop or online) and it gives you a code. You put that code into the website and you get to play for 1 month (sometimes 4 or 6 as well, depending on the gamecard you buy)
* LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION: Not all games do this, but some offer a one-off, larger payment which is a good deal if you can afford it; you pay a larger amount, just once, and you can play the game forever. This usually works out well on price overall, but you need to spent out a large amount in one chunk. Note that you still need to buy expansions to the game seperately.

Heard that there is in some MMOs you pay, and with that you can get up to a certen lvl, and have to pay again to improve that cap. whats up with that?

Don't think that's usual for larger MMO's (like WoW, LOTRO, etc), mostly level cap increases with expansions etc you know... It's mostly smaller, free-to-play-if-you-want mmo's that makes you pay for increased level cap, items etc. |
