| Just finished reading "A Thousand Son" by Graham McNeill. Part 12 in the Horus Heresy series. I've quite enjoyed the series, but then again I'm a hardout Warhammer fan. I'm not sure if you all would enjoy reading Black Library publications but I definately recommend it! A Thousand Sons |

| I did like a lot the Eisenhorn and Ravenor series, from Black Library. I'm very late on the gaunt serie too since I haven't been reading any since I left UK last year. _________________ ...... | Longtime since I read Gaunt's but I do not remember it being anything disappointing. Any 40k fan and/or Imperium Guard fan should read it. As for Eisenhorn and Ravenor I very much liked those, story is very good and it's written in a very intersting manner... _________________ ...... E.P.O.C.H. inside...... | I've decided recently that I need a new comic to read, as most of what I own I've read so many times I could virtually re-write the little buggers. To that end when I was in my local Forbidden Planet store yesterday I went on a chance and purchased something I've never heard about in the hope it was any good. I bought the first 2 collected editions of Bill Willingham's Fables Its a fun read and a bit mental but highly recommended if you like fantasy intermixing with reality rather than the more 'fantastical' variety. It is essentially about all the characters from faerie tales (snow white, the wolf and the three little pigs, bluebeard the pirate etc) who have been forced from their realm by an enemy which has so far not been seen but referred to as "The Adversary". These supernaturals have fled en masse or risk being slaughtered and through a combination of glamour magics and care social placement have managed to hide themselves in upstate New York. (The 'big bad wolf' for example is a private investigator, using his keen senses to help him in his work.) Its a good read and feels like a more adult version of 10th Kingdom meets The Sandman. In fact Fables is published by Vertigo, a part of DC Comics who also did titles such as The Sandman, Preacher, Hellblazer and the like. So far I'm only 2 collections in, but so far - so good |

| Currently reading "Oh, Play That Thing" by Roddy Doyle, possibly my most favourite author. It's the second in a series of books titled "The Last Roundup" which detail the life of Henry Smart, an IRA revolutionary at the turn of the 20th century, who finds himself amongst the most legendary of Jazz musicians in America. Doyle's writing has had a lot of impact on my own and I've even considered taking on his more radical approach to format. In place of quotation marks, Doyle places a hyphen to denote dialogue. It's effective, at least.
The first book in the series, titled A Star Called Henry is undoubtedly a masterpiece and well worth picking up. _________________ When they poured across the border / I was cautioned to surrender, This I could not do; I took my gun and vanished.
