| Hey, Valku's post in the allied events section just made me think of getting everyone's Xfire usernames, and I don't think this topic has been made elsewhere on here (if so, let me know or, if you're the Boss, just delete it). For those who don't have it, as with many things, it won't be useful until the game launches but it's a great application and really helpful for knowing what you're friends are playing and, when possible, gives you an option to join them. Also provides a more exclusive instant message system than the chatbox on this forum without having to, like Redwatch said (I think this is what he meant), mix your gaming life with your real life if you don't want to. My username is netrakarta |

| To be honest I never use it, but I may start. I'm not sure if I like the idea of joining a swtor community on there though. I joined the IRC one and it was full of the usual e-peens that inhabit the forums. Not fun at all. I just wish I had a decent mic so I coudl get on this ventrillo. Anyone have any recommendations for headphones and a mic by the way? |

| It's a necessity if you're playing an FPS but you really don't need it for anything but communication as the MMORPG RPers that we is. |

Yeah, most of my mates are into COD and use Xfire heavily, especially the clan admins. I can't see it being more than an annoyance in a MMORPG, especially if it's all OOC on a rp server (can I use "especially" twice in one paragraph?).
Having said that I can see it being useful for us as a window for people who are ****ed of by someone and take out a spur-of-the-moment revenge bounty. Maybe we doom someone to the role of "Comms Officer" to be our Ohura? |

| I personally never used it while playing an MMORPG. Not because the text messages annoyed me, they are negligible, but rather that I didn't want there to be such a public log of my hours played. I just jump around in circles in MMORPGs a lot...well, on top of playing them compulsively. Without having servers to join it's completely not necessary. Just use it if you want to. |

| Seeing as Vent is down (and I'm too dumb to set one up, I did try) and our Wookie is missing, I am liable to start using this too. Any ideas if you can have use a text-to-speech chatroom interface in the same way Vent did, anyone? |

| I haven't used Xfire before, only Ventrilo.
Is there much of a difference between them? |

| I'm not a big fan of X-Fire at all but if it's what the rest of youw oudl like to use then I'm up for that. I'm Sureshot242 on there.
To answer you question Vos, I don't think yoou ca have voice chat through X-Fire although I could be wrong. Vent is just a nightmare to set up. _________________ |
