As a podcaster, I was interested in seeing what the Terms of Service had to sasy about any sort of Non-Disclosure agreement. I didn't find what I was looking for because before I finished reading, I saw this tidbit a little way down. Check out the screenshot (click on it to see a full-sized image so you can read the text).
Points? Game store? This sounds to me like the talk about micro-transactions has been confirmed in Star Wars: The Old Republic, at least in Beta.

| hum...if thats true then it sucks hardcore. but then maybe its only for the beta or idk...
on the other side it clearly says "game testing terms and condition" so maybe this point thingy is just some sort of system for the beta maybe...
well i hope so, like i said micro-transaction would suck. |

| But what are the points?
Could they be Experience Points (XP), achievement points? Hell they could be points for fashion tips for all we know. Guess we wait to hear back from the Beta Testers. |

| I doubt they'll have microtransations, they're too smart for that. Still though, what are these "points"? Some sort of talent tree points? Special store points achieved through quests/achievements/brown-nosing devs? It's up to speculation as far as I know. _________________ |

| Don’t forget just who Bioware is owned by, I can see this being micro-transactioned no problem, its just some “clever” new marketing techniques by offering a free game to someone but making them pay constantly for things :/ I’ll pay for a subscription no problem to have free access to the world, updates etc but paying for nonexistent items really doesn’t appeal to me :/
I still remember the “mistake” someone made when they said it would be MT 8sigh |

| well idk man, its been said very often that EA wasent meddling with bioware for that project, and maybe its one of the reason of the success as in the past that kind of things never end well. theres already lots of theards on the swtor website showing just how much people would hate a MT based system.
i have no doubt that would turn-back an awefull lot of people, and its not really practical as another move bioware claimed they wanted to do was to appeal to the largest crowd possible. MT system would probably reduce that a lot, myself im not sure if id really play it if it was micro-transaction based. |

| Thing is if you want to appeal to a large amount of people then saying something will be “free to play” will sound great, although we know what MT really are doesn’t mean other people ie the vast majority of consumers will. Also EA might not be meddling in the project that much but when it comes to finances which this is all about they may very well be placing restrictions such as MT game on Bioware. That being said with no solid info I’m not going to leap to conclusions about it |

| Heya guys, I figured I'd start a thread to write down my thoughts about the new class or perhaps different vehicles that might appear in SW:TOR as well as adaptations of different weapons from the old republic era. Well, I think sureshot will enjoy this one, I'm going to talk about what I think is the new class for the sith side I've seen a lot of hints that leads me to think that "Imperial Agent" will be the new class for the sith empire, now the name is debateable so don't troll me for that one, hah. What I think the developers thought here is that we get to go into the depths of the more secret sides of the empire, they have made many adaptations from the movies and I think they've taken a huge thought of coming very close to the Imperial Security Bureau which was involved in: Surveillance Surveillance was tasked with uncovering beings or activities helpful to the Rebel Alliance or that may obstruct the Empire's plans. Many of Surveillance's targets are later turned over to Investigations for more thorough action. Surveillance was also responsible for instilling fear of the Empire into its citizens, so that they would think twice before assisting the Rebellion. Investigations Investigations was the skilfully superior branch of the Imperial Security Bureau, when compared to Surveillance. Many Modification agents and proven agents from Surveillance made up Investigations. Agents of Investigations were always in direct communication with the Imperial military, allowing them to call on a massive amount of firepower and resources should the situation require it, so they could take down Rebel threats with considerably faster response time and effectiveness. Interrogation If a subject caught by Investigations was suspected of still hiding the information the ISB wanted to know, the subject was shipped off to the Interrogation branch. The information they uncovered was sent to Investigations. I'm thinking that it would be a great way of exercising the "Conversation gameplay". Internal Affairs I think that one speaks for itself, here is where we get to jump into the more deep and darker sides of the empire. Re-Education When a member of COMPNOR was convicted of a crime by Internal Affairs, the subject was transferred to Re-Education. The subject was usually always returned to COMPNOR, although in a position of lower importance. It was reported that these individuals acted strangely when returned, their conversation disjointed, and their emotions out of phase with the situation. They were called "Graduated of Re-Education" or "Re-education" officially, but amongst other members of COMPNOR, it was said they were "Re-brained". Now, this would for example be a great capturing mission and I'm sure they've developed some kind of story to tie it all together. I am simply pointing out that if you look on the facts, an agent class has a lot of potential in SW:TOR What are your thoughts? |
